The Torah is divided up and read in portions throughout the entire year. These portions are called "parshas". With the conclusion of the high holidays, our previous year long read-through of Torah has completed, and we're ready to start reading through the Torah again from page one.
All Jews read the same parsha every week across the globe, so everyone is starting back at page one together.
Parsha Bereshis / Genesis will be read on Shabbat, October 9th and 10th 2015 and we will focus on studying this first portion all week long. This is an excellent time tune in to Jewish study both with Tenak Talk, and with other observant resources because you'll get to start study at the the very beginning of the Torah with the entire Jewish people.

I started reading the parshiot last fall. I couldn't wait for Parsha Bereshis, so I actually started with the last two parshiot of Deuteronomy.
At the time, I didn't know about the videos from Tenak Talk, Netiv, or Spiritual Babies so I have a treat in store for me. As I start the cycle again this year I'll have videos about each parsha to watch during its week.
Last year, I was helped by Rabbi Jonathan Sack's essays on each parsha, though he doesn't have a collection published yet for Numbers or Deuteronomy. Another good site probably everyone here knows about, chabad.org, has Parsha in Depth sections for each one.
