A book recently suggested to me is 'Going Kosher in 30 Days' by Rabbi Z. Goldstein . Looks really good and interesting. I will be purchasing it shortly. I will also be away traveling till mid- November. Once I get home I want to fully embrace this as a personal "challenge" and embrace being Kosher in the 30 days there after I start. I'll post a little note for each of the 30 days , hopefully it will and can help inspire others and help them on their journey ...

I wish you the best of luck! Keep us updated on your progress. I made TONS of mistakes as I was making this change in my life. Just keep your mind focused on an upward trajectory and don't worry about the little mistakes along the way.

Back from traveling across the nation and back,... Just started to read the introduction of the book. Best highlights so far is the rabbi/author's words of encouragement,..that tho the title has "30 Days" in it,..after the 30 day journey is when it really begins and the journey varies as all of these things do for various individuals for sundry reasons. And he wrote about how eating kosher opens up a new dynamic in your walk with HaShem. He actually makes it exciting to embark on this journey,..

So far into chapter one , which is Day One and will be two days for me. I need to stop and digest the material(No pun intended). It is so MUCH more then about food !! Very simple and easy to read, yet so dynamic and deep. For example he explains when the Torah was given as written and how the Oral Torah originated prior to,.. as well as the misconception of the word mitzvah as always meaning commandment vs sometimes meaning 'fusing' and or 'connection'. And the mitzvot are G-d's invitations to us to fuse/connect with him.
( I did actually finish the first chapter,.. Day One completed. I must say the excitement of working through the process is pretty fun ! I really enjoyed the introduction , and now day One , I actually feel like I'm growing and making progress in this aspect of my spiritual journey to connect deeper with HaShem.)

i was curious to read this too. it is actually not so hard to keep a kosher kitchen my rabbi only eats meat on Erev Shabbos and uses disposable plates and utensils for the meat dish. I guess he has a few pieces of cookware to keep aside for meat as well, but if you can manage a mostly vegetarian diet it much less hassle . the main problem is eating out, basically forget it. where we live there are maybe 5 kosher resturants in 50 miles and the food is horrible at all of them. unless you live in a big city forget it.
